Following numerous rumors and stories about Subaru's plans to replace the Tribeca with a brand-new model, the company has finally announced that they will indeed be building a three-row crossover at their Indiana plant. Expected to be built in 2018, the all-new vehicle will join their current crossover roster, which includes the XV Crosstrek and Forester.

There is still a lot of planning to be done before the new Subaru crossover takes shape, but the brand did share a few tidbits about what they currently have in store. According to the automaker, the model will be bigger than the now discontinued Tribeca crossover and feature a full third row that will offer enough room to seat passengers comfortably. As of now, the crossover doesn't have a name, but Subaru claims the model will have a moniker synonymous with outdoor adventure.

In addition to the new crossover, Subaru will also have three other models produced in the U.S. by 2016: the Outback, Legacy and the new Impreza compact sedan. Annual production at the Indiana plant is expected to grow to 394,000 when the new Impreza model officially goes into production.

Thomas J. Doll, President and COO of Subaru of America said "We have enjoyed record sales for seven consecutive years and the introduction of an all-new, American-made Impreza followed by an all-new larger 3-row crossover will help keep our sales momentum strong."
